Belinda Overstreet-Fletcher

Founder & Executive Director

Belinda Overstreet-Fletcher is a native of Folkston, Georgia and the founder and executive director of Gift Baskets, a nonprofit 501c3 organization dedicated to serving individuals and families through comprehensive social service programs.

Her Journey & Calling

Belinda’s path to leadership was shaped by resilience and faith. As a teenage mother, she left high school at age 16 to provide for her child. Her early years included hard work at Gold Kist Eggs, Kings Bay NSB as a housekeeping manager for 14 years, and later at Gilman Paper until the mill’s closure. These experiences, while challenging, laid the groundwork for her calling in community outreach.

Belinda went on to serve with the State of Florida Medicaid Program, where she owned and operated transitional housing facilities for men and women re-entering society from incarceration, youth aging out of foster care, and individuals navigating mental health challenges. She also volunteered as Community Outreach Director of Yess! of Northeast Florida, Inc., where she became affectionately known as “Ms. Santa Claus” to Jacksonville’s senior citizens—delivering food, clothes, and household goods in her red Jeep while offering case management and community resources. Her service with Yess! inspired the founding of Gift Baskets of Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia in 2006, which became independently registered with the IRS in 2021.

Education & Leadership

At the age of 47, Belinda courageously returned to school, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Human Services in 2017 and a Master of Science in Psychology with a specialization in Industrial-Organizational Psychology in 2020. With over 20 years of nonprofit leadership and program development experience, she combines strategic vision with hands-on service to build sustainable solutions for social challenges.

Her work has been recognized by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Second Harvest, honoring her dedication to social change in Folkston and the surrounding communities.

Legacy & Purpose

Today, Belinda Overstreet-Fletcher stands as a leader, advocate, and servant of her community. Through Gift Baskets of Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia, Inc., she continues to teach, motivate, and inspire individuals to seek self-sufficiency, resilience, and hope. Her life’s work embodies the belief that even the most difficult beginnings can give birth to a powerful purpose—serving others with love, compassion, and intentionality.
